I don’t know why 2784 is on the caseback but it does not refer to the movement. The movements fitted to this watch is a Myota 2115.

I own the “Pepsi” bezel and the watch looks great. I’ve read elsewhere that the markers are actually pushed up from the back, and in one of your photos (excellent photography, btw), you can actually see this is true. (The 20th image down from the video.)

Great review. And the photos are so well done. I have been thinking about a purchase of one of these after handling one in store the other day. It was the blue version which I believe has been a little harder to find. Thank you for showing the watch in detail.

You are a very good writer. You start off kind of smartassie. Which is not in keeping with reviewing a $50.00 watch. It isn’t trying to impress you with a “I’m as good as a _____” haughtiness. But you convey the watch growing on you as you progress through your experience with it. I had the exact experience with it. And I am a bit of a SEIKO Turtle is a real man’s watch kind of guy. But the Duro Marlin wins the heart by conveying that it will give you the shirt off it’s back and never cry while giving you some skin as well. It deserves to be a legend for why things deserve to be a legend. William Zinsser would be proud of you. – TR Ball
